About Indonesian diver Sari Ambarwati and her career
Sari Ambarwati is probably not a name that most people around the world may be familiar with. She is a female diver from Indonesia. There are so many countries in the world and Indonesia usually ends up being described in very negative terms. Many people will think of political and social unrest when they think of Indonesia. But this large Southeastern Asian nation also has good things in it. One of these good things is that during the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, a diving competition took place. And Sari Ambarwati Suprihatin became the athlete that participated for her country during these games in diving. She finished in 10th place during the Women’s 3 meter springboard final. I know that this is a hard name for most people to pronounce but that’s life I guess. Prior to this event, she took part in the 3 meter synchronized diving preliminary competition during the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne Australia. She was paired with Nani Suryani Wulansari. In the 2010 Asian Games, her last dive was very sub par. I have seen the entire coverage of that diving competition. And that’s how I first heard about Sari. In the synchronized 3 meter springboard event with partner Maria Natalie Dinda, she got a 6th place finish. At the 26th Southeast Asian Games in November 2011 Ambarwati got a bronze medal in the 3 meter springboard diving event. She followed up that victory with a silver medal in the 10 meter synchronized platform event with partner Della Dinasari. There isn’t too much more information about Sari that I could find. By posting this information I hope to open up people’s minds and get them to realize that Indonesia should be recognized for positive events such as this. Sari Ambarwati is really, really pretty and I wish her the very best in her diving career and in life. She received another great success for her country when she won gold for Indonesia during the National Games in the Women’s 1 meter Springboard diving event. Her victory came in September 2012.
