It was announced last August during the AKB48 concert at the Tokyo Dome that AKB48 vocalist Minami Takahashi will be working also as a solo singer. The title of her solo debut song is called Jane Doe. It was used as the theme song for the drama called Saki starring Yukie Nakama. The song is a rock ballad written from a male perspective. The lyrics focus on a man who is unable to resist the temptation of falling in love with one woman. This is in spite of the man has been deceived, disrespected, and he has even lost whatever he had. Where ever you go and look around you, there are so many songs about love and romance and this is another example of this. The song title Jane Doe represents a woman like Saki. The role is played by Nakama. Saki is depicted as a righteous woman but she is actually a very wicked and evil woman who will do whatever she can to destroy men around her. The song is scheduled to be released sometime this spring. Details on that will be posted soon. Minami Takahashi was born on April 8, 1991 and she is still the captain of AKB48’s Team A. She has been with the group since 2005 and has been under contract with several labels. Not to be confused with former Morning Musume singer Ai Takahashi, Minami is really cute. If you would really like to see how cute she really is, take a look at this:
But her name would be hard to pronounce for non-Japanese speakers. I even sometimes misspell that surname because it is so long. She was present when AKB48 was named Tourism Ambassador of Guam on February 14 which was valentine’s Day in the US I can say that I have heard the song Jane Doe and I think it is a good, groovy kind of song.
A short sample of the song Jane Doe has just been released. Takahashi plays two roles in the video. She plays the role of a phantom thief and a diva. Here is the longer version of the song:
