C-ute, one of the Japanese idol groups and part of the label of artists known as Hello! Project announced that they will be disbanding after a performance at the Saitama Super Arena in June 2017. Then they will end 12 years of activities as a group. Yes, the girl group that has great songs such as The Middle Management and I Miss You will be bringing an end to their work as a group.

This news was first reported back in August 2016. I had known about this news for four months before I decided to cover it. The band had announced on their official website that their dream was to hold a concert at Saitama Super Arena. They said that after this dream concert, the career of C-ute will then come to an end. According to the announced news, the group began thinking about the future and they were thinking about the future of each member as all of them are now at least 20 years old. The group was told about the concert in July 2016 and then given one of three choices:
- To leave Hello! Project but stay together as a group
- Go on a hiatus period.
- Disband completely.
C-ute announced that the group was born in Hello! Project and while there is Hello! Project there is C-ute. The group wants to be known as the C-ute of Hello! Project right until the end. The group announced that they would not take part in the Hello! Project Winter Concert Tour to focus on their activities.
The formation of this band goes back to June 2005 as an 8 member unit. The group made their debut with a single called Sakura Chirari in February 2007. After three members withdrew, C-ute has continued their career with five members. They are:
- Maimi Yajima, 24 (She is the leader of C-ute and Hello! Project).
- Airi Suzuki, 22
- Saki Nakajima, 22
- Mai Hagiwara, 20
- Chisato Okai, 22 (She is my favorite member of the group because of her high cuteness factor. I’m not saying the other members aren’t cute but Chisato is really cute and she can be very beautiful as well.)
C-ute is the next major idol group in Japan to announce its disbandment since Berryz Kobo. I did not include DIVA because that group is only a sub-unit of another major group AKB48. Congratulations to the members of C-ute and I wish them the very best in their solo careers and whatever work they may decide to do.
