Gravure idol Yuri Morishita, known for her modeling work in the Japanese AV idol industry has an interesting biography. She actually started her professional career under the name Maiko Akagi. This was also her name at the time of her birth. She received some first success when she participated at motor sports events. Taking a break and leaving the public spotlight, she came back and started working under the name of Yuri Morishita. Her name is sometimes also spelled Yuuri which can make it confusing for the reader. For a brief overview on what a Japanese gravure idol does, check out my post about what is a Japanese gravure idol. To put this more simply, they use the term gravure model as well.
There is also some controversy about her exact date of birth. When Yuri was working under her earlier name, the date of birth was listed as February 9, 1984. The birth date under which Yuri Morishita was born is January 31, 1985. This may seem like we are writing about two different people but we are actually writing about a person that has worked under two different names. She has the zodiac sign of Aquarius.
Her nickname is cyborg idol. A native of Saitama, Japan, Yuri began her modeling career in 2003. Yuri has made appearances for the Tokyo Motor Show, DoCoMo, and Toyota. On the Tokyo area Channel 12, Yuri has appeared on a late night TV program for that channel called Output. Yuri has also made appearances in men’s magazines such as Dope, Hip Lip, and the most famous one of all, Sabra.

What else does gravure idol Yuri Morishita do?
Yuri is known for her distinctly large breast size. She often appears in photo shoots with fellow supermodel Yoko Matsugane. She usually does photo shoots in bikinis or even in one-piece swimsuit. Yuri occasionally does photo shoots in lingerie. She lacks the sexiness of supermodels such as Yukie Kawamura or Yoko Matsugane but she is still cute in her own way. In 2010, she went to Sydney Australia to study English.
